Google is now rolling out the latest version of its Chrome web browser for Android. It brings the version number to 42 and adds a way to be notified when websites are updated.
The feature was first revealed by Google in March as part of the beta for Chrome 42. Website developers can use the new Push API to sent out notifications to Chrome users when a site is updated. Chrome 42 also allows users to add their favorite websites to their homescreen quicker via a banner that will appear when a site is frequently visited.
Aside from those two features, Chrome 42 also has a number of bug fixes along with some improvements to speed the browser’s performance. As with all new Chrome releases, it may take a couple of days for the update to be available for all Android users. The release comes just one day after Chrome 42 was launched for Windows, Mac and Linux, which also has support for the new Push API.
